I have had the pleasure of participating in the One Week Intensive program five times, the first one in 2006. Every time I have left with the feeling of time and money well spent. In fact I have enjoyed every minute. The reason for this is both what is going on throughout the week, but also that I have received direction and stuff to work on when I get back home. It is limited how much I can improve in one week, but practicing the right stuff in the following weeks, months and years can take me everywhere. And even though I have felt inspired, I have also experienced that inspiration fades rapidly. Bud knowing real musical content never fades.
The first time I passed the gate of the schoolyard all sorts of fears went through my mind; “All the others are probably much better musicians than me, and both the teachers and fellow participants will laugh at me when I play.” Of course that didn’t happen. I have been there together with guys that bought a guitar the week before and I have enjoyed being there together with real high level professionals. I think we all left with the experience of receiving something valuable for further growth.
Spending time with guys sharing my passion and world class teachers so welcoming and committed to give me a solid fundament for growth is priceless. Hopefully, I will be back for more sooner than later.
